Man On Fire by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

Buy album off iTunes or Amazon

I’m a man on fire | Walking through your street | With one guitar | And two dancing feet | Only one desire | That’s left in me | I want the whole damn world | To come dance with me | Come dance with me | Over murder and pain | Come and set you free | |Over heartache and shame | I wanna see our bodies burning like the old big sun | I wanna know what we’ve been learning and learning from |

Everybody want safety (safety love), Everybody want comfort (comfort love), Everybody want certain (certain love), Everybody but me

Isaiah 29:13 “These people come near to me (God) with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.”
Romans 12:1-2 ”Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
John 15:6 “If you do not remain in me (Jesus), you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”
Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
Ephesians 5:15 “Be very careful, then, how you live —not as unwise but as wise”

“What June did for me was post signs along the way, lift me up when I was weak, encourage me when I was discouraged, and love me when I felt alone and unlovable. She’s the greatest woman I have ever known. Nobody else, except my mother, comes close.” Johnny Cash in his autobiography “We’re soulmates, friends and lovers and everything else that makes a happy marriage. Our hearts are attuned to each other, and we’re very close. I’ll get up every morning at five o’clock and make the coffee, then start pacing the floor, wanting her to get up. But I’ll let her sleep for a couple of more hours. If she smells the coffee, she’s up.” Johnny Cash   ”I can’t envision living without her. I can’t envision another woman in this house. The lady of the house is her spot. She’s always been there, and she’s dependable, trustworthy, loyal, kind and cheerful — all of the parts of the Boy Scouts.” Johnny Cash about June Carter  ”He told me after my mother passed away, “Your mother and I were more in love when she passed away than we ever have been.” That love grew in great leaps and bounds. They were real. My parents were real people. They didn’t put on airs or false faces. They were what they were. ” John Carter Cash on his parent’s love affair

Chasing Butterflies. This one is a bit different..rougher . I saw my little boy run around the garden yesterday and when he ran behind the bushes, there was this great play of light happening. It’s already pretty hard for me to draw foliage, and to add light and shadow to it is incredibly hard for me. This is more of a test, a research if you want, and I wasn’t going to post it at first..but I figured…. It’ll be nice to put it, and, in a few weeks, few months from now, when I figure out how to think about this more properly and render it in a more convincing manner, I’ll be able to look back on this and realize that it was as good a starting point as any other. I am writing this because I get a lot of questions or concerns about younger artists or students who are afraid of trying to do something they don’t think they can, or actually think they would never be able to. All you need to do is the first step, and then build on it ..it’s a little like opening a box of make it yourself toys.. except that you have no instructions. You have to tinker around a bit( or a lot) to figure it out.
